Another Rainy Day..

I am so ready for the rain to stop. I loved being able to take all the kids outside this week while it was nice. They had so much fun. I took some pictures of them all playing. Olivia has been doing much better.She goes in these stages I guess. She will be starting a 3 yr old program in the fall for half day. The bus will come and pick her up in front of the house. I know she will like it because she puts her coat on and packs her "snack" like Noah does everyday thinking she is going with him. She has a fit when he leaves without her. She has been very good about leaving me to go with daddy or over Uncle Richie's house. Daddy and I even got to go out for a few hours a few weeks ago with Brittany and her boyfriend while Olivia stayed with sissy and Noah at Richie and Amanda's house. We have not been out together in a long time since the Linkin Park Concert last February.

Well I'll post more later the kids are done eating. Only have a few today.

Well the warm weather is starting to hit. Its going to be 63 here today. I love this weather. I am ready to turn off the heat and open up the windows. I can not wait till i can take the kids for a walk outside. It just needs to dry up a bit from the rain that we got the other day.

This week has been a better week for Olivia. She hasn't been as rotten as last week. She has her good and bad days! She will be going every week to the physcologist. They are going to work on her behavior. Fun Fun!!

Well i made her an appt with the doctor to go over what is going on. We go Thurs March 19th. The school Psychologist called me this morning and asked what was going on and asked me a few things about Olivia. From what I told her she said it does sound like autism traits. So we shall see thurs. I will keep everyone updated.

For the last few weeks Olivia's behavior has gotten worse. She is scared of everything now. Im not sure if its part of the syndrome or a phase. I have emailed her teacher this week and explained to her how i have been stressing over her. I posted also on the Jacobsens yahoo group to get some advice from other moms that have been through this before. I gotten a lot of great advice and called the Phycologist to get her an appt to get tested. I really hope they can find something. She goes on March 19th.

She does not like to play with toys at all. She hangs around and on me all day. I cant even leave her without telling her where im going. She is scared to go down the toy isle in stores. I know when she gets scared because she will get this blank stare on her face and say that she is tired. Everytime she says she is tired i know that she is scared.

I hope that the doctors can help her with what ever is going on with her. Ill update you after her appointment.

Well its monday again and Olivia woke up on a happy note. Usually she is stuck up my butt when she gets up. Today is going to be an easy day because I only have 2 daycare kids. I usually have 7! Yes today is going to be a good day. Its freezing outside and windy.

Our Updates

Well we have had a hard December with Olivia. She was diagnosed with Pneumonia. She was one sick little girl. She had a nasty croupy cough on Christmas Day. The next few days she got a 103 fever so i decided to take her to the ER. The did a chest xray and found pneumonia in her left lower lobe. The put her on Amoxiclian. Of course I knew that it wouldnt work for her. The next morning she was wheezing and breathing fast. I took her back to the ER. They did give her steriods to help her get better faster. The next few days i noticed that she was getting better but not all the way. I took her into her peds office and they changed her meds. She is all clear now and back to her normal self. I really hate winter because that is when she is sick the most. Here are some pics above of her at xmas..

Cardio Apt

Olivia went to the cardio last week. She was going every 6 months but now they bumped her to once a year. That is great news. They are just watching her and the growth of her heart. Its the same since she was born almost 3 yrs ago. Yeah!

Well this week has been great. Olivia's speech has really came along quick. She is saying stuff that we didnt even think she would be saying. She is starting to put 2-3 word sentences together. The teacher is so amazed at how she is doing.

Everything seems to be going great. No nose bleeds knock on wood. She has hit her nose a few times and I run to go see if its bleeding. So it's been great that it hasnt been bleeding. She doesnt have as many colds as she had last year. Ill keep everyone updated.

New Findings...

Well we had to take Olivia to get her DDAVP (special medicine to see if it will help her bleeding). I will know in 10-14 days if the medicine works if it does then it will be medicine that she will get if she has bad bad nose bleeds, dental work, 0r when she gets her period. She does have a mild mild case of Von Willebrand Disease. Nothing serious though.

I hope this new year brings lots of great times and healing. This year has not been so bad for Miss Olivia. She goes to the Hemotoligist this week to see about her bleeding disorders. She has been healthy other then that. She does go back to the Cardio in Feb.. I hope they have some great news for us. She is such a strong little girl and is surprised at how she is doing as far as her development.

Well we are battling colds again with Olivia. She has been on Flovent Inhaler, Singular, and Amox now they have her on Omnicef. She is sick from the time it gets cold till Spring. It drives me nuts. I guess being a cardiac baby doesn't help either.

She is also on Iron Supplements and Multi Vitamin. Her platelets are low and she is anemic.

We are parents of 3 wonderful kids. We have been married for almost 9 years. Our youngest daughter Olivia is two and she was diagnosed with Jacobsens Syndrome when she was born. Olivia has really changed us. She is wonderful to have around. She has been through so much in her little life. She does have cardiac defects, learning disabilities, small bleeding problems, and some minor things. She does get lots of help from her in home teachers. She is catching up so fast on her learning. We love to find others with the same syndrome as Olivia. I love to learn how other kids are.
